Link and materials will be sent the day before the program. \nCybercrime threatens everyone professionally and personally\, reasonable cybersecurity is now a legal requirement for many and an ethical requirement for attorneys. New York State has even created a new continuing legal education (CLE) requirement for Cybersecurity\, Privacy and Data Protection. Prevention of cybercrime remains the goal\, so we discuss that in depth. Rules on security\, detection\, investigation\, and reporting are evolving\, and there are lawyers\, individuals\, and organizations who may not be aware of them\, do not know where to start\, or need more knowledge. Lawyers need to take measures to protect themselves\, clients\, and employees\, and advise clients on these complicated issues. All organizations need to take similar measures to safeguard and secure their systems and protect confidential information. All of us can play a role to properly guide the evolving areas of law with respect to cybersecurity\, cybercrime\, and privacy.
